They say that necessity is the mother of invention, and this easy DIY desk is no exception! My son, a little engineer in the making needed a computer desk with some special requirements. After searching high and low for that perfect desk and without any luck, he turned to me to build it. He needed a desk to fit snugly between two bookcases in his computer room (72″ long), but most importantly, the desk needed to be narrow, around 24-inches deep and without an apron. Well, that’s the beauty of DIY’ing it. You build it to your own specifications! All the pipe components used for the building of this desk are ?” Black Steel which didn’t need additional paint. All the pipe lengths I used can be found in stock at your closest Home Depot. I decided to put together the top boards using a biscuit joiner for a cleaner look, you can also use the Kreg Jig.
