This listing is for the stencils ONLY. No wood, paint, or finished signs will be shipped. Each of these stencils will fit on a piece of 5×8 inch wood. All 6 stencils shown are included in this pack. With our vinyl stencils and DIY kits, your craft projects will turn out perfect every time! No crafty skills re. Simply apply one thin coat of paint onto your wood as your background color. You can use acrylic or latex paints. We recommend using a matte or flat sheen latex paint. These paints only take 20-25 minutes to dry. It is even faster if you put it in front of a fan! After your background color is dry, remove the backing paper on the stencil and apply the vinyl to the wood. Use a squeegee or credit card to firmly rub over the entire stencil with pressure to adhere it to the wood. Peel off the top layer of white transfer tape. Now you are ready to paint! Use a small make up wedge sponge, dip it into your paint, dab it off on a paper towel, and apply thin coats of your paint to the cut out areas of the stencil in dabbing motions. Repeat multiple thin layers of paint on your lettering until those areas are well covered. Once dry, peel off the vinyl stencil. It is not reusable and will rip into pieces as you remove it. Use an Exacto knife or toothpick to lift and remove all small pieces of vinyl left behind. Admire your beautiful work! If you want to distress and age your sign, you can sand the edges with 110 grit sandpaper. You can also sand over your lettering. An antique finish for your sign can be achieved by wiping on a layer of Watco Danish Finishing Oil in Dark Walnut. Wipe on with a rag and then quickly wipe back off with a clean, dry rag. This will give your sign an aged vintage look. We have several videos on our Facebook page showing the process for applying the vinyl, painting the sign, and distressing the sign.
