via: topknotstrong.com
I wanted to do kind of this little series to share some of my best tips that I can give to you guys to help you. I hope that this is valuable for you. If you are new here, be sure to follow my blog or like my Facebook page to receive more of my tips and advice to come! Now, let’s get right to it. So, what I wanted to go over today were just 5 things that you can do starting today to live a healthier lifestyle today. A lot of people think that they have to do all of these major things and there are a lot of things that do help but you can start doing and implementing little things here and there to break some habits that you have developed over time. I know for me I had a lot of habits that I had to break, because obviously what made me gain weight were the habits that I had from day in and day out. I had to break those habits in order to live a healthier lifestyle and in doing that, I have developed new ones. Number 1, and I say this all the time plus you all have probably has seen me post about it on social media, but that is just to drink more water. I love the big 74.4oz jug that I got from Walmart for cheap because it is so big and I keep it with me everywhere I go. Cut out the sugary drinks, cut out the sweet teas, cut out the coffee that has a lot of sugar in it, cut out Starbucks. Honestly, you are going to feel so much better when you cut those things out. When you drink more water, your body is hydrated and that, a lot of time, helps with so many things. You to feel fuller, it helps you to sleep better, and it helps your skin. Secondly, stock your fridge with healthy foods and things that you can grab that you can meal prep that you can have readily available for you to eat. If you have it in your house, you are going to eat it. You know you’re going to buy it, you’re going to eat it. If you’re buying unhealthy things, then that’s just giving you that temptation in your house. By stocking your fridge with healthier things, you’re going to eat healthier. Also, eat more greens along with that. I’m not talking about peas but more like leafy greens spinach and kale are really good always have those and they are very low in calories, so you could almost over eat on those, no problem. Now, skip the frying. As much as I love fried food and I am willing to admit that. When you fry food, it is absorbing all of that oil and more than you need. You do need some kind of fat every day but you need healthy fats. When you deep fry things, it’s giving you that extra fat where you could be having something healthier. Instead of frying or having deep fried things, better options would be to have something baked, grilled, or even sauteed depending on how much oil obviously. I always recommend baked or grilled is the best or even steamed. Those are always better options than fried things My 4th tip – Eat more often! Eat 5 to 6 meals a day. I’m not talking about full and big meals, but 5 to 6 meals that have smaller portions and good portions. This is kind of a topic that a lot of people are concerned about and wonder how you know what and how much of a portion should I eat. That’s why I love the containers that I use because it shows me how much of a portion that I need for that food group. It helps to keep my level of energy consistent throughout the day, it’s also helping my metabolism. When I was drinking pop or any sugary drinks, I would have a sugar Spike and of course eventually come off of that, which doesn’t give you all day long-lasting energy. When you’re eating and you eat consistently for every 2 to 3 hours and 5 to 6 meals a day that are about the same and portions, you are getting consistent energy throughout the whole entire day that way. You’re going to feel full and it’s going to help your metabolism as well and burn more energy and more fat. The last thing, do not do it alone. Many of you may know that I tried to start my journey by myself. I wanted to try to do this by myself. I purchased Insanity, I tried it, and I failed miserably. I would start doing it and stop doing it. When I had a bad day, honestly, I just wanted to give up. I had no one telling me to keep going, so when I wanted to give up, I gave up. So I suggest to not do it alone. You know you guys may have noticed, but I do have a link at the bottom.
