Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood (cherry, oak, maple, walnut (walnut adds $350)). These are very popular and durable woods for high quality furniture. Click the wood choice box above to select your wood. No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species. Drawer bottoms are of high quality 1/4″ plywood. Extra cost options are billed separately. Click Bed Size above to select your size. When checking out click on the shipping upgrade tab to select your region of the USA. The bed is custom made for you. The listing price is for natural wood color finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful natural bed. For an additional $80, you can choose from a wide range of colors of stain. For cerused choose either red oak or white oak and tell me the base color you want and I will send an invoice for $120. White wash is an added $120. The first four photos are cherry with no color added finished with tung oil. The fifth photo shows maple wood and the sixth and seventh show wormy maple; each of these are natural color finished with tung oil. The 8th photo shows cherry wood with a green dye applied finished with tung oil. The last two photos are white oak with brown stain added finished with tung oil. Those last two photos show slats that are lowered a little. The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats at the same level as the top of the sides. Or upon request, the slats can be positioned lower so that a Tatami mat can be placed on the slats. The queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5″. 20 slats are provided. The sides and ends sit on the floor and are about 14″ tall. The bed length is about 4″ longer than your mattress and the width is about 4″ wider than your mattress. The length for a queen or king is about 84″. The width for a queen is about 64″ and for a king the width is about 80″. The approximate size of the drawer boxes inside space is as follows: width length height Full/double 17.1 23.5 8.125 queen 18.8 26.5 8.125 King 18.8 34.5 8.125 The drawers glide on side mount steel ball bearing drawer slides. The full and larger sizes have 6 drawers and the twin size normally has 3 drawers but has the option for 6 drawers. The bed is custom made for you. You can request almost any change that you would like. Most furniture in high priced stores is made of pressed materials with thin veneers. Such materials are easily damaged and are difficult to repair. They also often give off unhealthy fumes. The bed is shipped in pieces that lay flat in the box. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. The assembly based on detailed instructions is performed by the buyer. This design is also helpful for people who move because it permits more compact shipping and storage. Shipping costs are not automatically calculated by your zip code. The United States shipping cost is the 48 state base cost to which a regional adder must be applied. When checking out, please click the shipping upgrade box to choose your location in one of the three regions listed to set the regional adder. A quote for shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada can be provided upon request. The price of the smaller bed sizes is set lower because of the size and also because this ETSY system does not permit the shipping to be set lower for the smaller bed sizes.
